Code Compliance - Barking Dog Information

Barking Dog Complaint InformationThe Glendale City Code states that:
“No person shall keep a dog within the city limits, which is in the habit of barking or howling or disturbing the peace and quiet of any neighborhood within the city.”

Filing a Barking Dog Complaint

In order for the City Prosecutor to initiate legal action against the violator, the barking dog must be deemed a nuisance. A nuisance is defined as actions that are disturbing the peace and quiet of the neighborhood.

Click here to file a barking dog complaint and begin the petition process. Please complete all requests for information on the complaint form, including the address where the dog resides.

A notice will be sent to the dog owner making them aware of the fact that our office has received a barking dog complaint.

In the meantime, a barking dog petition will be mailed to you. You will need to fill out the petition and the four accompanying logs. After the logs have been completed, please return the petition and logs to:

  • CODE COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT
    CITY OF GLENDALE
    5850 W. GLENDALE AVENUE
    GLENDALE, ARIZONA 85301

Once received, the information will then be forwarded to the City Prosecutor's Office for their review. They will make a determination as to whether or not the evidence will support a successful prosecution. You will be notified of their determination.
