Glendale's Centennial Is Cooking Something Up!
Centennial Cookbook Debuts at Citrus Zestival
Glendale’s Centennial was part of the Parks & Recreation Department’s Citrus Zestival on Jan. 30 at Sahuaro Ranch. Along with cooking demonstrations, a baking contest, historic home tours, and much more, the Centennial Commemorative Cookbook- “A taste of Glendale- 100 years in the making” debuted for sale at the event. The collector’s item featured more than a dozen recipes from local individuals as well as from people and places from the city’s history. Both the Historic Preservation Commission and the Glendale Historical Society contributed recipes, and demonstrated their delicious delicacies during the festival.
The book is still available in limited quantities at the Glendale Visitor Center for only $5.00. Call 623-930-4500 for more information on purchasing a cookbook, or for additional information on upcoming Centennial-related activities.
