Cemetery - FAQs |
- Is there an annual maintenance fee? No. All expenses associated with operating the cemetery are paid by the City of Glendale.
- Is a dome required? Yes. These have been required for all burials since May 1995. Once the casket is lowered into the grave, the concrete dome is placed on top of the casket to surround the sides and top to protect the casket. A dome provides families with peace of mind knowing the casket is protected. It also provides better preventive maintenance for the grounds.
- During what times may a burial service be arranged? Graveside services may be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Graveside services held after 1 p.m. Tuesday through Friday will be subject to an overtime charge. Saturday graveside services are accepted when scheduled to start prior to noon with an overtime charge.
- How much advanced notice is required for making burial arrangements? Services should be coordinated between the funeral home, church and cemetery at least 48 hours (two business days) in advance of the funeral service.
- Can I set or place a marker at a gravesite? For safety and liability reasons, only cemetery personnel may set a marker at a gravesite.
