Barrel District - Meet Councilmember Yvonne J. Knaack |

 Councilmember Yvonne J. Knaack was elected in November 2006 to represent the Barrel District beginning January 2007 and is dedicated to maintaining and improving Glendale neighborhoods. She currently serves as a member of the Code Review Committee. She has worked and owned a business in Glendale since 1971 and has been a resident since 1985. Currently, she is also an agent for State Farm Insurance with a Chartered Life Underwriter designation.
Councilmember Knaack attended Northern Arizona University, Phoenix College and Glendale Community College. She has been active in many civic organizations and is currently serving on the boards of the Salvation Army, YMCA, Glendale Kiwanis Club and the West Valley Coalition for Under Age Drinking. She is a member of the Copperwood Elementary School Site Council and was the 2005 Chairman of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce. Prior to becoming a councilmember she served as Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Adjustments, as a member of the Risk Management and Workers’ Compensation Trust Board and the Glendale Rental Improvement Taskforce. Additionally, Councilmember Knaack is a member of the Arizona Town Hall and the State Farm Arizona Legislative Action Committee.
