Driven by Art! Glendale's Public Art Driving Tour

With the financial help of the state's first percent- for-art legislation, public art began to be acquired and appear in various locations around the city. The arts program is designed to increase the public's awareness and appreciation of art. In Glendale, an Arts Commission works to deliver the following messages about the value of a public art program:
  • Public art is a valuable contribution to the community
  • Public art connects people to their environment
  • Public art helps to foster a sense of pride
  • Public art serves as a catalyst to stimulate a diverse and vital surroundings

With the help of the City Council, the Arts Commission began to place artwork in public places, assuring that all of Glendale's citizens would benefit from a more beautiful and vibrant community.
