The City of Glendale Arts put out a call to local students and their teachers to find new designs for Glendale's new library cards. From over 900 applications four designs were were chosen from two schools: Three from Greenbrier Elementary in the Dear Valley Unified School District and one from Apollo High in the Glendale Union High School District. Students won $200 each for their winning entries and their teachers won $500.00 for art supplies in the classroom. Patty Thomsen with her 365 entries from Greenbrier won $1,500.00. That's a lot of clay!  

There will be 12,000 copies printed of each design and they will be at all of our branch libraries in Glendale by the first of the year, 2009.
