With the financial help of the state's first percent-for-art legislation, public art began to be acquired and appear in various locations around the city. The arts program is designed to increase the public's awareness and appreciation of art.
With the help of the City Council, the Arts Commission began to place artwork in public places, assuring that all of Glendale's citizens would benefit from a more beautiful and vibrant community.
