Funding Opportunity for Performing Arts Projects to be Held in Glendale
July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014
To motivate, increase and support the performing arts in Glendale, the City of Glendale Public Art Program is offering up to $4,000 in support funding for theater, dance, music and interdisciplinary performing art projects and performances held in the city of Glendale. The program is designed to offer aid for projects open and free to the Glendale community and may be used to support items such as artist fees, project-related expenses for producing performances and workshops and project-related expenses for cultural exchanges that result in performances. All activities must take place within the city limits of Glendale.
Applicants must be located in or co-sponsor with an organization, school or government agency domiciled within the city limits of Glendale. Applicant must be a 501(c)3 tax exempt nonprofit organization. Applicants without this status may apply through a 501(c)3 organization, school, or government agency. Examples of co-sponsoring organizations: A City of Glendale Department such as the Marketing Department and Parks, Recreation and Library Services Departments; a school or college located within the city limits of Glendale.

2013 Glendale Plein Air Painting Event in Beautiful and Historic Downtown Glendale, AZ
Saturday, February 9, 2013 | 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Promenade on Palmaire in downtown Glendale
The event is open to any artist (18 years of age & older) who paints using the Plein Air technique in oil, watercolor, acrylic, or pastel. Plein Air (open air) paintings are executed outdoors. The public is invited to watch the artists paint all day in downtown Glendale during the Chocolate Affaire. At 4 p.m. gather around at the Promenade on Palmaire as artists display their works for judging! This event is presented by the City of Glendale’s Public Art Program in conjunction with Special Events and the Annual Glendale Chocolate Affaire, which takes place from Feb. 8-10, 2013.
