| Water Conservation Volunteer
Environmental Resources Department, Water Conservation Division
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Water Conservation volunteers assist the Glendale Water Conservation Office with a variety of community outreach programs. Water Conservation volunteers help at special events, assemble home water audit kits, and assist office staff with special projects and ongoing programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare mailings
- Assemble home water audit kits
- Assemble water conservation packets in response to water waste reports
- Assist with data entry
- Assist with water conservation-related research
- Communicate general program information to the public
- Assist with water conservation-related events and programs
- Assist office staff with related duties and assignments
TIME COMMITMENTS:
- 2-6 hours per month
- Recommended at least 25 hours per year
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Ability to conduct independent research on the Internet and at the Glendale Public Libraries
- Good communication and organizational skills
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Indoors in an office setting at a computer terminal or desk sitting, using hands
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age of 16 to volunteer
- Desire to learn more about the Water Conservation Office’s outreach programs
- Ability to perform clerical tasks with minimal supervision
