Carpool and Vanpool

Creating a carpool or vanpool program or habit is a great way to reduce traffic congestion and encourage smart commuting techniques.

Motivate employees to carpool with the following incentives:

  • Save money on your car. Car/Vanpooling saves you money by decreasing automobile use.
  • Save money on your insurance. You can reduce insurance premiums by eliminating or limiting use of a personal vehicle for daily commuting.
  • Save the stress. Less traffic headaches.
  • Help clean the air. Reducing the number of automobiles on the road will reduce the amount of pollution put into our air.
  • Get more time. By not driving, or sharing the driving burden, you can get more time to do other things during your commute: read, sleep, work and talk.
  • Get there faster. You'll love using the HOV lanes.

Carpool Incentive Options a company can choose to use:

  • Money, a monthly subsidy is always the best motivator.
  • The opportunity to win money or prizes in monthly drawings.
  • Preferential or special Parking privileges; both close to the door and or covered parking.
  • Recognition by providing a Commuter Club Card.
  • Save time - access to the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane.
  • Saving money and reducing wear and tear on a vehicle.
  • Find a carpool buddy

Vanpool

Who is this best for?

  • Longer distance commuters . . . that have more than a 15-mile one-way commute trip.
  • Younger (35 yrs for VP’er vs. 40 yrs. For drive alones)
  • Employees with “regular work hours,” as the vanpool has one start time and one departure time every day.

Incentives in Vanpooling

  • Cash subsidy or percent of the monthly fare is the best motivator.
  • Pre tax savings to vanpoolers. Click here to learn more on how the employer and the employee can save.
