ADA Reservation Service:
In compliance with federal regulations, the City of Glendale offers an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Service to eligible persons who, because of a disability, cannot use Valley Metro fixed-route bus service. The ADA service covers the same routes and operates the same hours as Valley Metro fixed –route bus service in Glendale.

Who can use the ADA Service?
Only people who are unable to use regular fixed-route bus service because of a disability. Persons wanting to use this service must fill out an eligibility application and be certified to use the ADA service. Please call Valley Metro’s ADA Eligibility Office (LINK) at (602) 495-577.
Can Anyone Else Use the ADA Reservation Service?
Yes. Attendants and companions of ADA certified riders may also use the Service.
What is an Attendant?
An attendant is a persona care assistant who must accompany the ADA-certified passenger in order for that person to make the trip safely. The need for an attendant must be identified in the ADA application. Attendants do not pay a fare.
What is a Companion?
A companion is a person riding with an ADA-certified passenger who is picked up and dropped off at the same location as the ADA-certified passenger. Federal law states that one companion may accompany the ADA-certified passenger and must pay the same fare as the ADA-certified rider. Additional companions will be accommodated on a space available basis.
In What Area does the ADA Reservation Service Operate?
The service only operates within ¾ of a mile to established bus routes. ADA certified passengers must be picked up and dropped off within the ¾ mile limit. The ADA service operates the same hours and days as the Valley Metro bus service in the described service area. A map of the service area can be found here.
How much is the Fare for ADA Eligible Passengers?
- ADA Eligible - $2
- ADA Companion - $2
- ADA Attendant - No Charge
- Incoming Transfer of ADA passengers - No Charge
- Outgoing transfer of ADA Passengers - $2 (transfer to destination city will not be charged)
How Do I Request ADA Reservation Service?
- Reservations can only be made on a prescheduled basis by calling (623) 930-3515.
- Requests for ADA service can be made up to 14 days in advance.
- Reservations must be made no later than 5 p.m. on the day prior to the requested service date.
- If transferring to another bus system, ride requests must be made by 5 p.m. on the day prior to the requested service date.
- The ADA Service is NOT available on a same-day basis.

- Weekday & Saturday: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Calls will be taken by a Dial-A-Ride Operator.)
- Sundays & Holidays: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (An answering machine will take calls.)
Passengers should leave the following information in their message:
- Name
- Telephone Number
- Date and Time service is needed
- Pickup location and destination
If you leave your transportation request on the answering machine, a Dial-A-Ride operator will return your call on the next business day to confirm your reservation.
