Explore the universe from 7 to 10 p.m. at Thunderbird Park, 59th Ave. north of Deer Valley Rd.
The Saguaro Astronomy Club will have some amazing telescopes available for free public viewing and will be answering questions. Bring a lawn chair, blanket, flashlight and walking shoes.

toddler water dayToddler Water Day …A Day at the Beach!
Friday, May 16
Grab those flip flops and beach towels, it’s time to head to the beach. Join us 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sahuaro Ranch Park, 9802 N. 59th Ave., for a morning of fun water activities and crafts. Children should be dressed to get wet! There will be a variety of water games that will definitely leave them soaked. All children are required to wear shoes or sandals; no bare feet allowed. Don’t Forget the SUNSCREEN. Children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Souvenirs and refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information, call Krystal at 623-930-2038. Summer Band Concerts
...cool sounds under the stars
Thursdays, June 5–July 24
Enjoy renditions of marches, ballads and show tunes 8 p.m., Thursday evenings, June 5 through July 24. It’s FREE and the entire family is welcome! The concerts take place in historic downtown Glendale at the Glendale Amphitheater, 5850 W. Glendale Ave. Refreshments will be available for purchase. World Records Day
Saturday, July 26
Do you have what it takes to break a Guinness World Record? If so, give it your best shot at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center’s 2nd World Records Day, 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26. This event will showcase a variety of established world records that are waiting to be broken! It takes place in the Coyote Room at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W.
