Small Stars
Youth Sports Clinics
Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 24 - February 23
These 5-week, 10-date sports clinics for boys
and girls ages 4-6 (as of Jan. 24, 2012),
focus on fundamentals, practice skill drills
and more of t-ball, soccer and kickball. ! Presented by Glendale Parks,
Recreation & Library Services, they feature
practice skill drills, warm up/conditioning,
review of rules and short scrimmage games.
The clinics are held at the Paseo Sports
Complex, 63rd Ave. & Thunderbird Rd.
$60 / Non-resident $72 (late sign up add
$10), includes clinic t-shirt, certificate of
completion and participation medal.
(Must wear gym shoes. NO sandals, boots

Blitz'em Football

Thunderbird Paseo Park, 59th Avenue south of Thunderbird Road
(Ages 3-9) Blitz’em football presents the core skills of
passing, catching, kicking/punting, defense/de-flagging and
defensive positioning. Allow your child to gain the experience
and confidence to play on any team. PARENT ASSISTANCE

Tennis - 10 and Under
Held on Mondays and Wednesdays for 4 weeks
at the Paseo Racquet Center, 6268 W. Thunderbird Rd.
(Ages 5-10) Students will be trained under the new
USTA “Quick Start” guidelines. Ages 5 to 8 will use smaller
36’ courts, smaller nets, smaller racquets and special
balls. Play-based drills will be geared towards increasing
enjoyment and skill development. Ages 9 and 10 will also
use age-appropriate equipment to speed up the learning
curve. Play will be on 60’ courts with slower moving balls
to assist in developing tennis skills. Instructor: PASEO

2011 Arizona Cardinals/NFL Punt, Pass & Kick
This FREE skills competition for boys and girls, ages 6-15, offers four separate age divisions where participants compete against each other in punting, passing and placekicking. Scores are based on distance and accuracy. Competitions will be held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Foothills Sport Complex (Fields 1 & 2), 57th Ave. north of Union Hills Dr. and Tuesday, Sept. 20,
at the Youth Sports Complex, 91st Ave & Bethany Home Rd. On-site registration begins at 5 p.m., the competition at 6 p.m.
Winners from each local competition will advance to the sectional competition, Sunday, Nov. 13. The top four boys and girls first place finishers in each age bracket from the pool of sectional competition champions will advance to the Team Championships at Cardinal Stadium to be held during the regular season home game on Dec. 18.
