Glendale Recreation After School Program
IT’S FREE! A, supervised, drop-in recreation program for Glendale youth, who are in grades 1st through 8th. Trained staff provide a variety of fun and educational programs including study time, indoor/outdoor activities, clubs, games, field trips, mini tournaments and guest speakers. G.R.A.S.P. is offered at the locations noted below. To register, just go directly to the site your child will be attending and fill out an emergency card and a Code of Conduct. It’s that easy! Before and After School Licensed Recreation Programs
(AM/PM & PM Only Programs)
The AM/PM and PM Only programs are licensed, school-age, recreation programs providing a variety of activities for children ages 5-13. The program’s goal is the total well-being and safety of each and every child. Educational activities, breakfast, snacks, arts and crafts, guest speakers and homework time are offered by caring, adult staff members. The programs are regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services and is eligible to accept DES qualifying families. Contact your caseworker for information on DES. Program sites are open on early release days; however, they are closed on national holidays or when the school campus is closed. Preregistration is required, including a $20, non-refundable, registration fee for the school year. Registration must be completed at least 48 hours prior to program site attendance. As part of your registration, each family must select one of the programs below. Registration booklets with more detailed information are available at each site or at the Parks and Recreation office at 5850 W. All locations are open at dismissal for early release and parent-teacher conference days.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Glendale Kids – Join us for summer fun!
Summer Youth Drop-In Recreation Program
A FREE, fully supervised, city-wide program featuring Games - Special Events - Swimming Sports - Special Guests - Arts & Crafts - Awareness Programs - Field Trips
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Children who have completed kindergarten through those entering 8th grade in the fall may participate in the program. Children must sign in each day for attendance purposes but may leave the site at any time. Once children have left the program, they must leave the campus area. All participants must have an emergency card, behavioral contract and code of conduct form on file at the site. Parents are asked to stop into the site on the first day to fill out this information. Registration materials may also be picked up in advance from the Glendale Parks and Recreation office, 5850 W. Glendale Ave., and the child can bring them to the site the first day they attend. 6-9 p.m., Friday, June 27, Murphy Park, 58th & Glendale avenues – Hosted by our summer recreation sites. Don’t miss this evening for the whole family to enjoy games, youth performances and activities. Food and snack items will be available for purchase. Summer Licensed Child-Care Program
This program offers children the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in a supervised, safe and secure environment. Activities include arts and crafts, computer stations, guest speakers, cultural events, field trips, group games, mini tournaments, club activities and special events. It is fee-based, licensed and regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services and qualifies for DES assistance. Space is limited. Registration forms, including immunization and emergency information, must be completed and turned in before your child may attend. Forms will be available at the school and the Glendale Parks and Recreation office, 5850 W. Glendale Ave. Participants must bring a non-perishable sack lunch. Summer Youth Field Trip Package!
For only $60 per child – this FUN filled package features six different field trips at the locations and dates noted at the right. It includes guaranteed placement for all six field trips, transportation and staff supervision. For more information, call 623-930-2842.
