Holiday Closure Information Dec. 23-27
The Glendale City Council has approved closing city administrative offices the week of Christmas, Dec. 23-27, this year. The Parks and Recreation offices will be closed during this time. The Glendale Adult Center will be closed, but the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center will be open with adjusted hours. | Click here for a list of hours and other information.

Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave The Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a free tour of the area and learn about the various buildings, barnyard, trees and groves. The area’s mission is to preserve a historic site where the community participates in the ongoing development of educational and social experiences that connect Glendale residents and visitors to the past and to each other. Paint Along Party – Acrylic 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13 at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr.
Your instructor will guide you through the completion of a holiday scene acrylic painting in this fun, interactive class. Instructor and students will
paint the same image together.

OMG Desserts Class 12 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7 at the
Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr. From recipes that come together in a matter of minutes to the most sophisticated dishes you can imagine, our certified personal chef will walk you through them. Adult Softball League Organizational Meeting 6 p.m. or 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9 at the
Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St. Glendale’s organizational meeting for the adult softball leagues will be held at 6 p.m. for teams returning to Glendale’s program and at 7 p.m. for new teams. The meeting will cover league format, rule changes and registration. Teams will representatives at the meeting will receive a $50 discount coupon to use towards the registration fees. Men’s and coed leagues are available and held at Sahuaro Ranch Softball Complex and Foothills Softball Complex. Teams play a double-header format one night a week for 14 weeks and a single-elimination tournament. Registration is $505 for Glendale teams (minimum of four Glendale residents on roster) and $595 for non-resident teams. For more information, call 623-930-2841.
7th Annual Santa's Workshop Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. - Noon

Kids of all ages are invited to this special event where they can purchase holiday presents (everything is $3 and under) for their friends, family or even their pets. A store will be set up with a variety of items sure to make everyone happy. Santa’s elves will be on site to wrap their selection in holiday wrapping paper. Mexican Tamales Class 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 at the
Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr. Just in time for the holiday season. Learn to make homemade beef, chicken and sweet tamales using the traditional masa and a low-fat recipe. Participants will take home one dozen tamales. A $30 supply fee will be collected at class. CPR and First Aid Training 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the
Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr. Learn basic CPR and first aid in this class, which will provided you the knowledge and skills necessary to administer emergency care in cases of injury or sudden illness. Successful completion cards will be distributed. Optional health care provider offered for an additional $5, payable at class. The class is for ages 12 and older. Preregistration required. Holiday Ornament Cupcakes Class 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21 at the

These edible cupcakes look like real Christmas ornaments when finished. Impress your family and friends with these beautiful and delightful desserts. You will take your cupcakes home.
