The City of Glendale Parks & Recreation Adaptive Recreation program offers specially designed activities for individuals with physical, mental, emotional or social disabilities. Activities include bowling, swimming, dances, field trips & more. The general minimum age for participating is 8 years old. The City of Glendale also supports Special Olympics Softball & Challenger Little League with the City of Peoria.

Theatre Kidz

Everybody Plays!

(Ages 8-23) Students experience the joy of learning to play 10 different instruments, while
increasing memory and motor skills in a fun and creative atmosphere. Classes taught by the Chimes Company, specializing in adaptive musical instruction for youth. (www.chimescompany.com). Challenger Little League*
Saturday, February 4 - April 21 • 8:30–10:30 a.m.
(Ages 7-21) Dust off that baseball glove and join us for practices and games! This league features two divisions – Instructional or Competitive – and meets on fields 3 and 4 at Clarence B. Hayes Memorial Park, 9845 N. 75th Dr. This program is provided in cooperation with the cities of Glendale and Peoria and The Rio Vista Little League. I Can Be Safe

(Ages 8-22) There’s more to it than just “stranger danger”. It’s important to remember children of all ages need appropriate safety education. This class teaches kids about methods used by unsafe individuals and those that want to exploit them. Youth will become familiar with the common tricks played on kids, strategies if they’re lost or approached and internet safety. They’ll learn about choices and practice skills for their own safety in a fun and age appropriate manner without fear! Parents are encouraged to attend. Please arrive 5 minutes before class starts. Bingo Extravaganza Night*

Be a part of the Glendale Adaptive Advisory Committee – Help plan and organize programs or share a special talent and volunteer! Our goal is to expand the Glendale Parks and Recreation Department’s adaptive program to include more opportunities for children and youth of all abilities! We meet the 2nd Thursday every other month (January, March, May, July, September, November), 4:30-5:30 p.m., at the Glendale Adult Center, 5970 W.
