Yes, those are Glitters lights you see on Historic Downtown’s trees

It may be hot in the city, but cool is just around the corner. Just to prove it, workers are already gearing up for this year’s Glendale Glitters, hanging lights throughout Glendale’s Historic Downtown.

The city is busy installing more than 1 million twinkling lights throughout
downtown Glendale. At the tail end of the summer heat, workers began the two-month process of installing the lights for Glendale’s popular holiday tradition, Glendale Glitters.

The biggest event of the holiday season in the city, Glitters attracted more than a quarter of a million people last year. This year’s opening weekend will be Nov. 24-25, and the light display runs through Jan. 6, 2007.
