The latest information
on the 2006 Neighborhood Leadership Forum: Building One Community With Strong Neighborhoods
Glendale’s Community Partnerships Department will be holding its annual Neighborhood Leadership Forum on Saturday, June 24, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive.
The event is free and open to all Glendale residents, neighborhood leaders and business owners. Several of Glendale’s departments will have information booths on display. Mayor Elaine Scruggs and members of the City Council will also be in attendance.
Spark Awards
The Commission on Neighborhoods will announce the five Spark Award recipients during the breakfast event. These individuals and organizations will be honored for their exemplary leadership and continued contributions and dedication to Glendale.
After the Sparks ceremony, newly appointed Police Chief Steve Conrad will discuss his department’s new initiatives and ability to respond to the upcoming national events in Glendale.
The final portion of the program will feature Dr. Richard Knopf of ASU West, who will lead the group in a visioning exercise to encourage a discussion on “what makes a community flourish.”
