Glendale helps kids tee it up this summer with an introductory golf program aimed just at youths
Let your children express their inner Tiger Woods or Michelle Wie with the city of Glendale Parks & Recreation Department’s introductory golf program. The sessions are geared toward kids ages 8-13 who have never played golf.
The weeklong program is an introductory clinic that teaches golf skill development to kids who normally would not have the opportunity to play. It is a complete introduction to the sport without any of the costs that are associated with it.
Who’s Eligible?
To be eligible to register for this program a child must be between the ages of 8 and 13, have never played golf before and not own a set of golf clubs. Each participant will receive a week-long introductory course, which includes a golf outing with their sponsor; a Hook A Kid On Golf t-shirt; a new starter set of Hook A Kid on Golf clubs and a custom bag; golf balls and a cap; a membership bag tag and miscellaneous golf accessories.
The sessions, which are all scheduled from 9 a.m. – noon, are on the following dates:
- June 12-19, Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course, 5450 W. Northern Ave.
- June 19-23, Desert Mirage Golf Course, 8710 W. Maryland Ave.
- July 10-14, Glen Lakes Municipal Golf Course, 5450 W. Northern Ave.
