Glendale’s summer band is back in full swing
Looking for a cool way to spend your summer evenings? Look no further. A great Glendale tradition is back as the Glendale summer band kicks off its seasonal concert series Thursday, June 1. The band serves up free performances every Thursday night at 8 p.m., June 1 through July 20.
A Time-Honored Tradition
Hosted by the Glendale Parks & Recreation Department, this long-standing Glendale tradition keeps getting better every year. The free concerts are held in downtown Glendale’s Murphy Park amphitheatre, located at 59th and Glendale avenues, and are also sponsored in part by the Glendale Civic Pride Ambassadors.
With more than 100 musicians, this symphony will cool the summer evening with the sweet sounds of renditions of marches, ballads and show tunes. Music lovers will want to make a special note of the June 29 concert as the band will perform a special patriotic show.
Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket for lawn seating, but please leave pets at home. Refreshments will be available for purchase in the park.
For more information, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (623) 930-2820.
