Glendale is looking for a few good volunteers to help with this summer’s Annual Water Safety Walk Campaign
The Glendale Fire Department’s Fifth Annual Water Safety Walk Campaign is right around the corner, and safety officials are turning to citizens for help in spreading the important words about water safety in our city.
About the Campaign
Started in 2002, the Water Safety Walk Campaign aims to educate Glendale citizens about how to be safe in and around water. For the past four years, Glendale fire fighters, along with the help of Glendale police officers, city employees and citizens, have gone door-to-door to hand deliver messages and door hangers about water safety.
Since the program began, 121,000 homes in Glendale have had water safety messages hung on their doors. By the end of the 2006 season, our water safety message volunteers will visit an additional 40,000 homes.
The walks have had a profound on the impact in our community and offer an opportunity for citizens to engage in a worthwhile activity.
