Go Fish!
Learn how the catch the big one this weekend at Glendale’s Family Fishing Clinic
Need a good fishing tale to tell? Get your fishing rod and bait and head out to the Family Fishing Clinic May 6 at Bonsall Park, 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
The clinic, which marks its 11th year, caters to curious learners as well as experienced outdoors enthusiasts. Beginning at 7 a.m., this free family event offers instruction on how to snag the ‘big one’ and bait your hooks. Arizona Game & Fish will also be on hand to provide educational information on native fish.
Get There Early
That old saying ‘the early bird gets the worm’ is true. Come out early to catch the sunrise and free breakfast. A limited supply of fishing rods and bait are available on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to a fishing pole, if you have one, bring a container to take your fish home and something comfortable to sit on.
Each child will receive a raffle ticket for chances to win great prizes provided by Sportsmans Warehouse, and there will be various giveaways throughout the morning for all ages.
Details
A fishing license is not required for the clinic, but those who continue fishing after 10 a.m. will be required to follow Arizona laws and regulations. Sign up that morning at the registration booth. For more information, call 623-930-2070.
