Seeing Sparks

Nominate now to recognize your neighborhood leaders for their contributions with the Spark Award

Is there a person in your neighborhood who goes out of his or her way to help others? Do you know an individual or business that has a special “spark” and spends personal time and talents improving our neighborhoods?

If you know of someone who meets these criteria, nominate them for a 2006 Neighborhood Spark Award. Nominations are being accepted until May 12, 2006.

Those selected for this award will be honored by the Commission on Neighborhoods at the 2006 Neighborhood Leadership Forum, held on Saturday, June 24 at the Glendale Civic Center.

How to Nominate

When nominating, please select from the following categories:

  • Neighborhood Revitalization -
    This category is designed to recognize an individual or neighborhood group, or another organization, for taking the initiative to revitalize a neighborhood through volunteerism and/or donations.

  • Traditional Neighborhood Leadership -
    This category is for a non-HOA leader who exemplifies positive leadership and decision-making skills while participating in a neighborhood group.

  • HOA Leadership -
    This category is for any individual who lives in an HOA neighborhood and exemplifies positive leadership and decision-making abilities.

  • Business Support & Involvement with Neighborhood -
    This category is for Glendale-based businesses that consistently work with a neighborhood or neighborhoods to assist in positive economic development and enhance the area’s quality of life.

  • Community Partner Award -
    This category is for community partners such as non-profits, government agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations, and others who have worked with neighborhoods and the community in a positive way.
