Paws Fur Spring
Glendale Public Library and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center to host pet health and gift expo Dog obedience demos, first aid classes for pets, pet adoption, a spay-and-neuter clinic and a wide array of vendors with food and fun for both dogs and their owners will be on hand this Saturday at the Paws Fur Spring pet health and gift expo at Glendale Public Library, 5959 W. Brown St. Presented by Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and the Glendale Public Library, the inaugural event will benefit Banner Health’s Dog Therapy Program, a not-for-profit program that has more than 70 dogs that make more than 50,000 patient visits annually throughout Banner's Arizona region. The program's popularity and value are due not only to the dogs, but also to their masters—the dedicated volunteers who train the dogs and accompany them on these welcome bedside visits. Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and the Glendale Public Library are committed to raising community awareness and financial support for Banner Health’s not-for-profit Dog Therapy Program, which enhances the hospital’s healing environment through unconditional love and compassionate patient care. No pins, no needles. Just good, old-fashioned tender-loving care delivered with a friendly and happy wag of a tail.
