The 11-week program covers a variety of topics, including:
- Overview of the department’s history and organizational structure
- Community oriented policing
- Crime scene investigation
- Police driving techniques
- Use of canines
- Firearms, explosives and tactical operations
- Volunteer opportunities
When and Where
Classes meet every Wednesday at 7 p.m. and run approximately three hours, with the first class set for April 5. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and will undergo a background check. Applications are required and must be submitted by March 1. CLICK HERE for an application.
