Get involved in your city this spring by enrolling in one of the following free courses offered by the city of Glendale’s Community Partnerships Department.
Glendale University
Ever wonder how business gets done at city hall? You can find out that and more through Glendale’s free municipal education program—Glendale University. Applications for the Spring 2006 semester of Glendale University (GU) City Government 101 are now being accepted. This free educational program is open to Glendale residents, ages 16 and older, interested in learning more about the operations of city government.
GU classes will be held on Monday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The course begins on March 6 and ends on May 8.
In order to graduate from the course, residents must attend at least eight of the 10 classes. Each class highlights key functions of the city, including finance, library, police and fire services.
Glendale Homeowner Association Training Academy
This eight-session educational program is open to all Glendale homeowners association (HOA) board members and residents who want to learn how to more effectively manage and lead their HOA.
Each class highlights a different topic. HOA classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The course begins March 2 and ends March 25.
