Mayor Scruggs in the Community

Office of the Mayor - Mayor Scruggs in the Community

Mayor Scruggs accepts a generous donation from the Honeywell Corporation to go to the From the Heart Campaign and the Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission (MYAC).

From the Heart is a city program that utilizes donations by providing money to agencies that assist Glendale residents in need. The BHHS Legacy Foundation matches 50% of every dollar that is donated through the From the Heart program. Making a From the Heart donation is easy. Glendale utility customers can add $1 to their monthly bill or visit www.glendaleaz.com/fromtheheart/ to learn how to make a contribution.

The Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission (MYAC) is a working group of Glendale teens from all high schools in our city that plan and implement community projects. In previous years, MYAC has sponsored children in need through the Holiday Angels program, conducted a pet canned food drive in conjuction with the Glendale YWCA and carried out Operation Thunderbox, a collection drive to support Luke Air Force Base Troops that were deployed over the Holidays. MYAC is currently working with the Glendale Family Development Center on a large project and Spring festival that will benefit Glendale families.
