RESIDENTS INVITED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT
GAMING PROPOSITIONS AT PANEL DISCUSSION MONDAY, OCTOBER 7

GLENDALE, Ariz. – Are you puzzled about the three gaming propositions Arizonans will vote on in the state’s Nov. 5 General Election?

Glendale and other West Valley residents are invited to attend a moderated panel discussion to learn more about the three proposed gaming initiatives from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7 at Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, 15249 N. 59th Ave., in the AT&T Auditorium.

The informative panel discussion is being held as part of Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs' new Community Conversations program to inform and engage residents on important local and regional issues.

The three measures are:

  • Proposition 200 - Yes for Arizona, drafted by the Colorado River Indian Tribes;
  • Proposition 201 - Fair Gaming Act Coalition for Arizona, primarily funded by Turf Paradise and Phoenix Greyhound Park; and
  • Proposition 202 - Arizonans for Fair Gaming and Indian Self Reliance, supported by 17 tribes in Arizona.

Representatives from each of the three initiatives will be on hand to discuss the merits of each proposition, as well as answer any questions. In addition, a representative of “It’s a Bad Deal,” a political committee formed in opposition to propositions 200, 201 and 202, will also participate in the program to offer an opposing viewpoint.

Cary Pfeffer, longtime Arizona journalist and television news anchor/reporter, will moderate the panel discussion.

The Community Conversations' panel discussion is being hosted by Scruggs as a public service to provide residents the opportunity to discuss and learn more about the gaming propositions slated for the Nov. 5 election.

The panel discussion is for informational purposes only and does not imply endorsement of any propositions by the city of Glendale or the American Graduate School of International Management.
