Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs Recognized at Fourth Annual Kids at Hope Rally
Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs was recognized in winter 2000 at the Fourth Annual Kids at Hope Rally for getting Glendale designated as the nation’s first Kids at Hope city earlier this year. Other communities and school districts are joining Glendale in adopting the Kids at Hope belief system, which is supported by a culture and enhanced by programs, that “all children are capable of success, no exceptions!”
As part of its official designation as a Kids at Hope city, Glendale and corporate sponsor APS held a series of free training sessions for residents, schools and employers. The sessions explored, in-depth, what Kids at Hope is, and how it is learned, instilled and reinforced in order to ensure that all children have many opportunities to be successful while growing up.
