Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs to Serve as Kids at Hope Board Member
Mayor Elaine Scruggs was elected in 2001 to serve a three-year term on the national Board of Directors of Kids At Hope, a non-profit organization based in Phoenix, which is committed to a philosophy that "all children are capable of success, no exceptions."
"Since launching Kids At Hope in 1998, we have seen the miracle of this new belief system come to life in so many ways. We are committed to changing society's paradigm of 'youth at risk' to 'kids at hope,' " said Rick Miller, president and founder of Kids at Hope.
"We are pleased to have Mayor Scruggs join our board because she has been such a dedicated supporter of the program."
Glendale became the first Kids At Hope city in the country last year. Since then, 15 more cities across the country have adopted the program along with receiving support from businesses, schools, law enforcement agencies and other community groups.
