What does a book sale volunteer do?
A volunteer working in this area would sort, price and shelve book donations. This job may include organizing and straightening the storage area. The volunteer may also stock, straighten, and display books, magazines and media materials in the public book sale area. Other duties may also be assigned in the book sale area.
Where would a book sale volunteer work?
Book sale volunteers work in two areas in the various facilities. Volunteers may work in the book sale storage areas, in the public book sale area or a combination of both areas.
When would a book sale volunteer work?
Days and times volunteered are dependent on the library's needs and the availability of the volunteer, but are usually scheduled as follows:
Book sale volunteers at the Main Library are scheduled in one of the shifts below:
- Morning shift--Monday through Friday 8-12
- Afternoon shift--Monday through Friday 1-4
Book sale volunteers at the Foothills Library are scheduled to work any day the library is open for a 3 hour period.
Book sale volunteers at the Velma Teague Library are scheduled to work during open hours, Monday-Friday, for a 3 hour period. Please call for Saturday volunteer opportunities.
