What does a book processing volunteer do?

A volunteer working in this area would process print materials, including books and magazines. The processing of these materials include: laminating, taping, placing jackets on books, barcoding items, and labeling. A volunteer in the book processing unit may also be asked to mend items.

Where would a book processing volunteer work?

The volunteers in this section work in the volunteer workroom of the Main library.

When would a book processing volunteer work?

Days and times volunteered are dependent on the library's needs and the availability of the volunteer, but are usually scheduled as follows:

  • Morning shift--Monday through Friday 8-12
  • Afternoon shift--Monday through Friday 1-4
