GLENDALE, Ariz. – Glendale Public Library has a new feature on its website. Just click on the “Books, Movies & Music” link in the left column and discover the library’s newest additions, staff recommendations, related programming and more.
Book lovers will enjoy the special aspects of the book section. The “New York Times” bestseller lists for fiction and non-fiction are just a click away. Find out what books staff members recommend. Sign up for an e-mail list of monthly picks. Get a list of new arrivals in mysteries, fiction, romance, science fiction and fantasy and nonfiction. You can even find out about the appearance of recent audio books. For people who want to know more about books, the library has selected links to authors, awards and bestsellers, book discussion groups, e-books and audio books, reviews and criticisms, teen and children’s literature and other book resources.
Music fans can find out about live musical happenings at Glendale’s three libraries. They can also read a review of the staff musical pick for the month. The March choice is “Playback” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. There is also a link to the newest musical arrivals. Find out about the motion picture soundtracks the library has purchased over the past two years. Library card holders can even download music onto their MP3 players through the Greater Phoenix Digital Library, available through the Glendale Public Library website. Other Internet links will take users to local music events, music awards, music directories, online music publications, song finders and other music resources.
Movie buffs will love keeping up with the new DVD arrivals in the library. Find out which DVDs staff members enjoy. Did you know that there is an A-Z list of all feature films owned by the library? Keep up with library discussion groups that talk about movies as well as books made into films. There are also links to theaters and show times, movie awards, movie festivals, online movie publications and the movie industry.
