This series of programs at Foothills Branch of the Glendale Public Library will celebrate favorite tales of childhood with music, dance, puppetry, folklore, artistry workshops, storytelling and crafts. The programs are funded by a grant from the City of Glendale and the Glendale Arts Commission.

GRIMMER SIDE OF GRIMM

6:00-7:30 PM. HUMMINGBIRD ROOM. Frightening stories for a frightening time. Come to the library and learn
just how bad that wolf was. Little children in the 1700’s listened to all the gory details... So will you! This program will detail the harsh realities of a child’s life in the time of Grimm and Anderson, and the harsh lessons that their bedtime stories taught them. For ages 12-18.

HUFF ‘N PUFF IN 3D

7:00-8:00 PM ROADRUNNER ROOM This is a kinder and gentler rewritten version of the fairy tale “Little Red
Riding Hood”. The Wolf and his sidekick, the Fox, are ultimately convicted in court of stealing and assault and are remanded into the custody of Grandma - a woman way ahead of her time. For all ages. No registration required.

4:00-5:30 PM (for ages 8-11) and 6:30-8:00 PM (for ages 12-18). HUMMINGBIRD ROOM. Learn about fascinating beads like eye beads, the symbol for protection. Then, complete your necklace with red beads and eye beads. Presented by Brenda Brandt from the Bead Museum. For ages 8-11. Register beginning March 9th.
