Community Partnerships - Housing Division

Glendale, AZ - Fair HousingMission Statement

The Community Housing Division is responsible for addressing the rental housing needs of Glendale residents who cannot afford housing in the private market.  Through the administration of a federal Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program and a Conventional Public Housing program, the division helps eligible residents to secure safe, decent and sanitary housing.

For the 20th consecutive year, Glendale’s Community Housing Division has been rated as a high performer by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Fiscal Year ending June 2013.

New!!    HUD has proposed a decrease in the Fair Market Rents (FMR) for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program to be effective later this year.   In order to minimize the impact this will have on Section 8 assisted families, Glendale Community Housing has made the determination to increase its payment standard to 105% of the FMR.
