Salvatore Cosenza
Sal Cosenza is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Architectural Studies. Born in 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona, Sal’s work maintains a particular fascination with New York subjects. This fascination is no more obvious than in his award-winning Manhattan and Domestic New York collections; both of which work with themes of architectural anthropomorphism. Apart from acrylic, which is the artist’s main medium, he also works with watercolor, graphite, charcoal, as well as digital tools such as AutoCAD and Photoshop. Sal’s handling and understanding of a multitude of visual media is a reflection of his desire to constantly grow and collaborate as an artist, designer, and young architect. As of 2012, Sal plans to attend graduate school in order to continue his architectural studies. In 2011, he formed Sal Cosenza Art + Design, a creative venture that now serves as the umbrella for his yearly projects. Through it all, Sal continues to remain active in the Valley arts scene; serving as a painting instructor at The Brush Bar, and having work featured in Scottsdale’s Art One Gallery and Glendale’s Lewis Interiors. His collaborative projects include murals, architectural models, installations, and design competitions. Future projects include several book ideas that will chronicle the story behind both the Manhattan and Domestic New York collections. |
