Meet Glendale 11's Julie Watters

Meet Glendale 11 Staff - Julie Watters Watters has nearly 20 years of television and radio experience, including 11 ½ years with Channel 12 (KPNX), the NBC affiliate in Phoenix. An Emmy and Best of the West award winner, Watters joined Glendale 11 in 2006 as Executive Producer. Her journalism includes the Oklahoma City bombing, the Northridge, Calif. earthquake and the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, where, as a reporter, she delivered more than 200 live shots for NBC affiliates across the country. In 2002, Watters joined the Glendale Fire Department. She developed a public information office, taught media relations, organized community programs and implemented the department’s first-ever community services division. She was promoted to a level on par with an assistant chief. Julie has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northern Arizona University. She completed the Arizona State University Advanced Public Executive Program and National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) Writing Workshop.
