Glendale Fire and Midwestern University Continue to Team Up and Offer Free Training on a Life-Saving Technique
Glendale Firefighters and personnel from Midwestern University gathered Thursday night, 07/17, at Midwestern University in Glendale to offer free training to the public on CCC (Continues Chest Compressions) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). CCC (Continues Chest Compressions), also known as “hands only CPR” is a new form of CPR which has documented increased survival rates in adults who suffer a cardiac arrest emergency. The Glendale Fire Department and Midwestern University have been teaming up for the free monthly two hour course since September 2007.
“Our goal is to teach as many people CCC as we can. We know as first responders, this can mean the difference between life and death,” said Glendale Fire Chief Mark Burdick.
The attendance for each class has ranged from approximately 40 to 225 people. The next free CCC training class in Glendale will be held on August 21st from 7-9 p.m. The class will take place at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center, located at 11550 W. Glendale Avenue. Please log on to www.azshare.gov for more information and to sign up. |
