Glendale Deputy Fire Chief Retires After 31 Years of Service
GLENDALE, AZ. – Deputy Chief Carl Austerman called it a career with the Glendale Fire Department after serving 31 years in public service. The retirement celebration took place on May 30, 2008.
Glendale Fire Chief, Mark Burdick, along with many past and present Glendale Firefighters, family and friends, honored Chief Austerman at the City of Glendale Public Safety Building in located in downtown Glendale. Chief Austerman took the opportunity to thank his family and friends as he and many of his guest reminisced about several calls and experiences that took place over the course of three decades.
Though many of the stories shared by Chief Austerman’s friends and relatives were different, they all underscored his professionalism, his knowledge and work ethic.
The Glendale Fire Department congratulates you, Chief Austerman, on your retirement, and thanks you for your professionalism, leadership, and most of all, your friendship.
