Service Turn-On, Turn-Off & Name Change
renters - starting water service
The Utility Department provides water, sewer and sanitation services to the residents and businesses of the City of Glendale and surrounding areas. Whether you need to establish new service, terminate existing service or change the name or information under which your service is listed, you will need to contact Customer Relations to make the change. In just a few minutes we will be able to process your request. To start a new service, you must call, or apply in person at Customer Relations and for terminating existing service or changing the name you can complete the web form located at www.glendaleaz.com under Billing and the forms tab.
If you are a renter you will be required to pay a deposit of $80 and provide a copy of your signed lease for service. If multiple names are on the lease, we will require the same names on the utility bill. Most standard leases have the name of the landlord and tenants, property address, terms and conditions of the lease (the statement that says a renter is responsible for utility service) and the effective date the renter is responsible for the property.
Department personnel must have access to your utility meters at all times to change service or take readings. For more information, or to start, stop, or transfer utility service, contact Customer Relations located at 5850 West Glendale Avenue, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call them at 623-930-3190. Completed forms can be mailed to, City of Glendale, 5850 West Glendale Avenue, Glendale, Arizona, 85301.
