Education - Fire and Safety

Kindergarten through 12th Grade In-School Education Programs

The Glendale Fire Department offers several programs to all K-12 educational institutions within the city’s boundaries. These programs provide fire and life safety educational classes to better prepare our youth to live healthier and safer lives.

CCC-CPR Classes (Continuous Chest Compression CPR)

The Glendale Fire Department provides free CCC-CPR classes to all Glendale Schools. The CCC-CPR Program can be taught to students from fifth grade through 12th grade and to parents and school staff.

Fire Pal Program

The Glendale Fire Pal Program provides a seven-lesson fire and life safety program to children in kindergarten through third grade. Glendale Firefighters teach an eight-lesson program that includes the following topics:

  • Friendly Firefighter and the importance of 9-1-1
  • Tools and Toys
  • Stop, Drop, Cover Your Face and Roll and Cool a Burn
  • The Importance of Smoke Detectors and Crawl Low in Smoke
  • Home Escape Planning
  • Bike, Pedestrian, Helmet, and Seat Belt Safety
  • Water Safety

Youth Firesetter Prevention

The Glendale Fire Department provides a one-hour youth firesetter prevention course to students in grades six through eight. This free one-hour course provides students with information regarding the consequences of experimenting with or setting fires.
