Starting your own business is exciting, liberating, scary and stressful all at the same time. But, arming yourself with the right information—whether it’s how to find the prime location or how to keep your books in tip-top condition—will give you a nice head start on the entrepreneurial road to success.
Before the drywall goes up in your new office and before your mind ventures to choosing a logo or sign company, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the tax and licensing requirements from city, county and state agencies. The Arizona Department of Commerce Small Business Center is a great resource to learn about these various licensing requirements as well as receive customized information for developing your business.
But numbers are just the beginning. We understand that, at first glance, your to-do list seems a little overwhelming. So, we’re happy to help. The City of Glendale offers a number of small business resources. An overview of many of our programs is provided here online, including our Guide to Opening a Business. Still have a list of questions? Please don’t hesitate to call us at (623) 930-2983 or e-mail us at business@ci.glendale.az.us.
Maybe it’s a coffee shop. Or, perhaps it’s a children’s bookstore or a high-end clothing boutique. Whatever your business dreams, go ahead and dream them; we’re here to help you realize them.
