Young Artists - We Need You!

Glendale Sanitation Department unveils new 'Design-a-Sign' contest

Calling all young artists! Glendale children have the opportunity to display their artwork on the side of a city recycling truck through the Glendale Sanitation Department’s “Design-A-Sign” contest.

Children ages 6-9 are encouraged to submit artwork highlighting the theme: “Recycling is Fun.” Four winners will be selected, one from each age group. All qualified participants will receive a certificate of recognition and a special prize.

The winning artwork from each of the four winners will be featured on Glendale recycling trucks from Earth Day in April through America Recycles Day in November.

All artwork must be submitted on 8 ½-by-11-inch paper by Friday, April 11. Entries will be judged for creativity, use of color, relevance and adherence to contest rules. The contest is open to residents of Glendale only.
