Landscaping was added to the median at 75th Avenue north of Bell Road to improve the aesthetics of the area.
To improve the aesthetics in the area, 115 tons of granite were added to the median on 59th Avenue from Thunderbird to Greenway roads. |

Thanks to Volunteers
Special thanks to all the volunteers who continually contribute to making the Sahuaro District a great place to live. Some of the projects recently completed by volunteer groups include:
- Yard work and painting projects for disabled homeowners
- Clean up of Thunderbird Paseo Park
|
I appreciate the all hard work these volunteers did and would like to encourage all groups and individuals to come out and volunteer. If you would like to participate in projects like these, call the Community Volunteer Program at (623) 930-2915.

Commuter Rail Stakeholders Group
Councilmember Steve Frate was recently appointed to serve on the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Commuter Rail Stakeholders Group.
The group is comprised of stakeholders from throughout the commuter rail planning area, including cities and towns, business organizations, transportation advocates and others. Over the course of the next year, the group will meet four times and will identify key issues, purpose and needs, along with goals and objectives for commuter rail. “I look forward to representing the city on this important group that will help identify the commuter rail opportunities in our community” Frate said. |
