Community Action Program - Utility Repair and Replacement Program
Can Pay:
Repair or replacement of a utility-related appliance. Examples would include: water heater, evaporative (swamp) cooler, air conditioner, stove, refrigerator, and furnace.
Eligibility:
Household income for most recent 30 days, to include date of application, must be at or below 125 percent of poverty; 150 percent if there is an elderly or handicapped person residing in the home.
A household may receive assistance from this fund only once in a 12-month period.
The household must have experienced (and be able to prove) one of the following crises: loss or reduction of income or public assistance benefits, unexpected or unplanned expenses, and a health or safety condition.
A member of the household must be the owner of the home and owner of the appliance requiring repair/replacement.
