Community Action Program - Utility/Home Energy Assistance |
Can Pay:
- Utility (gas or electric) bills.
- Water bills, including deposits, can be paid only between May through October if the home cooling system is an evaporative (swamp) cooler. Home inspection will be done to verify that household’s only source of cooling is a swamp cooler.
Eligibility:
- Household income for most recent 30 days, to include date of application, must be
at 200 percent Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.
- A household may receive utility assistance only once in a 12-month period. If any member of the applicant's household has received utility assistance within the last 12 months, the applicant will not be eligible for assistance.
Applications for utility assistance are taken by appointment only.
